Description
Exchange Standard CAL as a used volume license. It is the basis of any access to an Exchange server and covers mailbox, calendar, contacts, tasks, Outlook Web App and mobile connectivity.
Every person or device accessing it needs one
The server license alone is not enough. Choose between user and device CAL for each workstation: anyone working with several devices is better off with the user CAL; where several people share one device in shift operation, the device CAL is cheaper. Both forms may be mixed.
Relationship to the Enterprise CAL
The Enterprise CAL is not a replacement but is added on top. Without a Standard CAL it has no effect. Anyone who needs the extended features for archiving, retention and protection rules therefore needs both licenses per workstation - we always list this separately in the quote so that the invoice stays traceable.

Why is no price shown here?
Because the price depends on the quantity and on the individual purchase. Tell us the quantity you need and you will receive a written quote with volume tiers and a binding validity period.
Is this license technically identical to a new one?
Yes. It is the same software with the same features and the same updates, for as long as the version is in support. The difference lies solely in how it was acquired, not in the product.
Which documents do I receive?
The license agreement in your company's name, the transfer declaration covering your quantity, the previous owner's deletion confirmation and evidence of the chain of title. These documents are part of the delivery and cost nothing extra.
What happens if the quantity I need is unavailable?
Then we tell you before you start planning. The shortfall can often be sourced at short notice; where that is not realistic, we suggest an alternative or advise against it. We do not make commitments we cannot keep.
Do I need additional client access licenses (CALs)?
For server products, usually yes; for desktop software, no. What applies in this case is shown in the license details above. Tell us the number of users or devices and we will work out the requirement with you.
